Learning at Heydays
Education
LEARNING THEMES
We explore a new theme every fortnight, and base our play and activities on this theme.
Examples include:

-
Our bodies & exercise
-
Healthy eating
-
Transport
-
Space & planets
-
and many more
CURRICULUM
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), and make an individual Tapestry account for each child, which details evidence of development through photos, examples of their work at Heydays and information from home.
ACTIVITIES
We run extra-curricular activities for the children throughout the term.
A selection of their favourites include:

-
Football sessions with an external coach
-
Pond-dipping and bug-spotting
-
Ballet lessons with an external teacher
KEY CARERS
All children have a dedicated Key-carer who is responsible for monitoring their development. Key carers are usually the first point of contact - their role is to develop a trusting relationship with the children and their parents/carers.
SENDCO
(Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator)
We have a Lead SENDco (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator) who offers support and advice to staff and parents. They can also liaise effectively with other professionals, such as our Inclusion Setting Support Officers (ISSO) Health Visitors, Speech & Language Therapist (SALT) and Portage Inclusion Practitioner (PIP)
